Saint Thomas Aquinas: Saint Thomas Aquinas was a Dominican friar and theologian who lived in the 13th century. He was one of the greatest philosophers and scholars of the Catholic Church, and the author of the Summa Theologica, a comprehensive work of theology and philosophy. He synthesized the teachings of Aristotle with the Christian faith, and developed the natural law theory and the five proofs of God’s existence. He is a Doctor of the Church and the patron saint of academics, philosophers, theologians, and many other causes. His feast day is January 28.
