He is depicted as the leader of the heavenly hosts, the warrior who fights against Satan and his evil forces, and the protector of God’s people. He is also called the Prince of the Heavenly Court, the Guardian of the Church, and the Patron of the Pope. He is the patron saint of many causes, such as soldiers, police officers, the sick, and the dying. His feast day is September 29 in the Western Church and November 8 in the Eastern Church.
