Saint Joan of Arc
Saint Joan of Arc: Saint Joan of Arc was a French peasant girl who led the French army to victory against the English in the Hundred Years’ War. She claimed to have received visions from God and the saints, who instructed her to support Charles VII as the rightful king of France. She was captured by the English and their allies, and burned at the stake as a heretic in 1431. She was canonized as a saint in 1920 by Pope Benedict XV. She is the patron saint of France, soldiers, and martyrs. Her feast day is May 30.
