Saint John Bosco
Saint John Bosco: Saint John Bosco was a priest, educator, and founder of the Salesians who lived in the 19th century. He was born in Italy and dedicated his life to the education and care of poor and abandoned boys. He used a preventive system of education based on reason, religion, and kindness, and founded the Oratory of Saint Francis de Sales, a home and school for boys. He also founded the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, a congregation of nuns, and the Association of Salesian Cooperators, a movement of laity. He is the patron saint of youth, apprentices, editors, and magicians. His feast day is January 31.
